Marie-Claude Bourbonnais Bio

Marie-Claude Bourbonnais is a geeky cosplayer and famous model from Quebec, Canada. Marie’s main appeal is her trademark oversized breast augmentation which helped her gain her professional modelling career. This inspiration started at her young age by being fascinated by extreme body shapes in Japanese anime. Using her skills as a talented model, she spends much of her time bringing these characters to life in person and in photos.

The Marie-Claude Bourbonnais brand journey started when she entered a contest to be a model in the Dream Team calendar hosted by radio host, Marto Napoli in Quebec City. Later in 2008, Marie started to travel through North America and worked together with various photographers.

Her curvy body and beautiful look earned her a modelling contract for a huge advertisement campaign and men’s magazines. Besides being the front-line model, Marie’s passion is in costume making and she believes in making her own custom-made costumes.

The first costume she made was Frost, a character from Mortal Kombat, thanks to her admiration of Frost since the teenager. Since then, her popularity was well received. Unexpectedly, Marie found out about the nearly unknown demographic of cosplay in the province of Quebec, hence, she decided to put more attention in creating cosplay awareness out of her passion.

In 2010, Marie started her own company in Canada. Being a woman entrepreneur, she collaborated with Polymorphe, a Montreal based latex clothing company to develop cosplay costumes using latex, a material which was not famous at that time. Polymorphe sponsored her latex version of Sue Storm from one of the Fantastic 4 characters in New York Comic Con (NYCC).
